Hon. Justice Benedict Bakwaph Kanyip
Hon. Justice Benedict Bakwaph Kanyip has served as the President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria since 2019. A distinguished jurist and scholar in labour law and industrial relations, he brings extensive judicial and academic expertise to the leadership of the Court.
Before his appointment as President, Justice Kanyip served as a judge of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria and as a Professor of Law, where he made significant contributions to labour jurisprudence in Nigeria. His academic works on labour and employment law are widely referenced in courts and institutions across the country.
Under his leadership, the Court has expanded access to justice through digital initiatives, promoted alternative dispute resolution, and strengthened the Court's nationwide presence through the establishment and upgrading of divisions and registries across Nigeria.
